This song was one of 2009's very worst, and somehow this is heaps worse. What's with the random improvisation towards the end? His vocal ability is just so limiting, it's like he purchased one of those crummy Australian Idol karaoke machines and recorded himself singing it behind the low-quality backing track. OH WAIT, HE MORE OR LESS DID!

The creepy breathing at the start is a turn off but it's not too awful otherwise. Maybe helps that I don't have too strong an opinion on the original, so I find this not too bad for Mastin's standards. The vocals are certainly better than most of his other X Factor performances.

The original version got a 6 from me but this barely even gets a 3. His singing is poor. Disgraceful cover. The score would be a lot worse if the track he was ruining wasn't so good. 2.5 - 3.
